The Sprout channel was mostly known for its original series, programming blocks, and for playing reruns from PBS, Sesame Workshop, and HiT Entertainment's archive libraries. However, the channel also aired acquired series: shows from other companies that Sprout didn't produce. Most of these shows were originally acquired by either HiT Entertainment and/or the main PBS channel and aired on Sprout. Since Children's Network LLC did not own the shows outright, many acquired shows stopped airing on Sprout after PBS' broadcast rights expired.
This page is a list of Sprout's acquired shows. There were almost 35 of them shown on the channel.
Logline
From the Sprout Press Room:
- "Sprout leverages partnerships with the best children’s television providers in the industry to bring families much-loved and trusted programs such as Sesame Street®, Barney & Friends™, Caillou® and Bob the Builder™." (link)

Notes
- Clangers, Ruff-Ruff, Tweet and Dave, and Floogals were given "Sprout Original" ending cards when they aired on Sprout. In this case, this signified how all three shows were acquired specially for Sprout and given American dubs specifically for the channel. The shows were not originally made by or for Sprout, and are fully owned by Smallfilms, Coolabi, BBC, Collingwood O'Hare, Nevision Studios, Jellyfish Pictures, Zodiak Films, although airings of the former two shows on CBeebies, BBC's preschool channel, include mention of Sprout.
