SCENE 1 Nina welcomes the Sproutlets at home and asks if they're ready for a good night together, leading to the "Welcome Song." She and Star then hear a sound, which the latter thinks is a squirrel gobbling up bananas and noodles, but is actually the Goodnight Bell. Nina reaches into her basket and pulls out a picture of a classroom, which Star describes and comes to the conclusion that tonight's adventure is about school. After Star suggests he learn some things about school tonight, Nina then teaches him the first thing, the Spanish word for "school," escuela, which she invites him and the Sproutlets to say with her.

SCENE 2 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and explains that tonight's adventure is about school, or escuela, which Star admits he doesn't know much about and is thus nervous. Nina tells him that he'll be excited about school once he goes, leading to a poem. Afterwards, Nina asks the Sproutlets in the audience if they have a big sibling who goes to school, and tells Star that Sproutlets don't go to school as babies, but a handful start by going to some kind once or twice weekly when they're two or three, but will go once a day as they grow, sharing laughter, learning, and fun. Speaking of fun, Nina decides to have some by looking through the Sprout-o-scope and, after singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," look at tonight's constellation - a chalkboard reading the letters "A," "B," and "C."

SCENE 3 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and, once again, tells them that the word for "school" in Spanish is escuela, which Star says. Nina explains that she learned a lot of Spanish words in school, and that there are so many things one can learn about and do there, like reading, addition and subtraction, things in space, stars included, engage in sports, games, and exercises. She also points out that one of her favorite types of exercises is stretching, like the Sprout stretch, which she goes out into the Goodnight Garden to do.

Nina and her Sproutlet friends pay tribute to Max and Emmy from Dragon Tales by doing Max and Emmy's School Stretch, putting their arms up like the two are erasing on the blackboard, then bringing them down and shaking them out once the teacher tells them it's time to help out, swinging them like they're wiping the board, and ending by breathing in and out.

SCENE 6 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and tells them that they're having a great good night talking about escuela, the Spanish word for "school." Star points out that he's also learning new things about school he never knew before, and asks if some Sproutlets ride to school on a bus. Nina says yes, and adds that others take a car or walk by feet. In the real kids segment, Sproutlets talk about things they learn about or do at school.
School9
SCENE 7 Star tells Nina that he didn't know one could play games at school and thought it was only for education. Nina tells him that there's lots to do at school, including playing games, which one can both learn and have fun while doing, and the Goodnight Game is no exception.

Nina and Star play a game called "What Doesn't Belong," which involves a scene of a classroom and things both typically seen at there and not. With help from the Sproutlets, they notice a scooter and a baby girl, while they put the other items - a chalkboard, a globe, and a desk and chair, in the scene.
