Penguins2
SCENE 1 Nina welcomes the Sproutlets at home and exclaims that tonight's going to be a good night, since, as Star points out, they're here together, leading to the "Welcome Song." They then hear a sound, which Star thinks is a super loud alarm clock waking up a giant who sleeps all day and stays awake all night, but is actually the Goodnight Bell. Nina reaches into her basket and pulls out a plush likeness of a bird, which she and Star describe and come to the conclusion that it is a penguin. She then teaches the Spanish word for "penguin," penguino, which she invites Star and the Sproutlets to say with her.
Penguins3
SCENE 2 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and explains that tonight's adventure is about penguins, or penguinos, which she then proceeds to recite a poem about. Afterwards, Star asks how penguins stay warm, and Nina tells him that they have plenty of feathers over their bodies with a layer of fat underneath the skin. The duo then looks through the Sprout-o-scope and, after singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," look at tonight's constellation - a feather.

Penguins5
SCENE 3 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and, once again, tells them that the word for "penguin" in Spanish is penguino, which Star says. She then points out that most penguinos live where there's ice and snow. Star wonders how penguins fly, given the fact that they have wings. Nina tells him that penguins have flippers, which they use to swim and push themselves along the ice using their bellies. Star then makes a sound that Nina calls perfect for sliding down the ice, and speaking of perfect, it's the perfect time for a Sprout stretch, which she goes out into the Goodnight Garden to do.

Nina and her Sproutlet friends pay tribute to Pingu, a penguin himself, by doing Pingu's Belly Stretch, in which they lay on their bellies and pretend to slide on the ice. Afterwards, they shake out their "flippers."

PenguinCraft
SCENE 4 After singing the Craft Song, Nina and Star make a penguin puppet for tonight's craft. The latter calls the puppet "cool" since penguins live where it's cool.
Penguins6
SCENE 5 After Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets, Star suggests they use their penguin puppet craft for a story. The story stars Walter, a shy penguin who lives on Ice Island. Despite this, he can ice skate and is a great belly slider. One day, he meets another penguin named Penelope. After a while, he teaches her to belly slide.

SCENE 6 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and tells them that they're having a great good night together. Star tells her that he's also having fun, and Nina points out that it's nice to share one's thoughts with friends. This leads to a real kids segment, in which Sproutlets talk about what penguins like to do.
Penguins7
SCENE 7 Star asks Nina what baby penguins are called, and she tells him that they are called chicks, like baby birds. Nina then points out that chicks are different from their grown-up counterparts since they have grey feathers. Star wonders if chicks like to play games, which he and Nina like to do, leading to a Goodnight Game.

Nina and Star play a matching game called "Mitten Match," in which they put matching pairs of mittens together.

Penguins9
SCENE 8 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and tells them that they're having fun talking about penguins, or penguinos, which Star once again proceeds to say, tonight. She then explains that, while mother birds lay their eggs and sit on them to keep them warm, mother and father parents take turns sitting on the eggs, keeping them on top of their feet and under their bellies. Nina also points out that while most bird nests are made of twigs and branches, penguins make their nests out of pebbles or stones or keep their eggs in holes or even in the ice. Now it's time to learn the sign for "penguin," which Nina's Sproutlet friends do along with her.
Penguins10
Penguins11
SCENE 9 Nina wonders if she and Star should say goodnight now or continue having fun. Star chooses the latter, which he always does. The duo then sees someone else who likes to have fun, Lucy, who shows them Sproutlets' crafts and drawings in the Goodnight Gallery.
Penguins12
SCENE 10 It's time to play "Lucy Light the Way." Based on clues (a mallard, a boat, and some fish), Nina and Star guess Lucy is in a lake.

Penguins14
SCENE 11 Nina welcomes back the Sproutlets and tells them that they're having a wonderful time talking about penguins, or penguinos, tonight. Adding to the many questions he's asked about penguins tonight, Star wonders why penguins waddle the funny way they do. Nina explains that they have wide bodies and short legs, the only way they can get around on their feet, though they're also good swimmers and divers. She then points out that Star needs to do something important since it's getting late - not ask more questions about penguins, but brush his teeth, leading to "Ready for Bed."

Afterwards, Nina tells Star that he's all cleaned up and ready for bed, and he admits that he thinks the singing helps. He also tells her that he's going to dream about the fun things they did tonight.

HushS4
SCENE 12 Nina welcomes the Sproutlets back and gives a brief recap of the night. She then points out that Star is already fast asleep, and goes over to Hush to recite his goodnight poem, and invites the Sproutlets at home to sign along with her and make their wishes for tonight. She then sings the "Goodnight Song" and falls asleep, closing the episode.
