Fifi and the Flowertots is a British stop-motion children's television series created by Keith Chapman and produced by Chapman Entertainment and Cosgrove Hall Films. The series originally aired on Five and Nick Jr. in the United Kingdom. The show aired on Sprout from January 14, 2008 to February 13, 2012.

Plot[]

"Meet Fifi, premiering exclusively on Sprout January 14th! Fifi forget-me-not is everyone’s friend who forgets a lot but always remembers in the end. Watch Fifi in the magical Flowertot garden as she tends to her organic garden, cooks delicious jam tarts and cakes and goes on wonderful adventures with her little Flowertot friends." (link)

History on Sprout[]

The show joined Sprout on January 14, 2008, airing at 9:15AM ET during The Sunny Side Up Show, and at 5PM ET during The Let's Go Show. It later aired at 7:15AM ET on the latter when that block moved to weekend mornings, and at 4:45PM ET on The Sprout Sharing Show.

The show left Sprout on February 13, 2012, the same day as Zoboomafoo, and a day before the premiere of The Super Sproutlet Show, when HiT Entertainment's license to the series expired in the United States, although its SproutOnline.com page remained up even with the site refresh in 2013. It also remained on Sprout On Demand as late as 2014. The final episode to air was "Fuzzbuzz is Afraid of the Dark."[1]

Notes[]

  • Like Roary the Racing Car, the show had a US English dub that only aired on Sprout in the US and Treehouse in Canada. In the dub, the characters speak with American accents. And also, two characters were renamed:
    • Bumble is renamed Fuzzbuzz.
    • Poppy is renamed Poppady.
  • Recipes themed after the show on SproutOnline.com included "Fifi's Fruit Flowertot," "Fifi's Party Punch," and "Fifi's Fruit Spread" (a reissue of a Let's Go Show recipe known as "Hats Off to Chew.") The former recipe was put on the Sprout Diner website later on.
  • Footage from the series was seen in both Bright House Networks commercials for Sprout in 2008.
    • The "Better Together" promo has Fifi, Stingo, and Fuzzbuzz.
    • "Hi" has Fuzzbuzz greeting Fifi.
  • Keith Chapman also created Bob the Builder, another HiT Entertainment program that aired on Sprout, and later developed Roary the Racing Car.
  • Although the series has 3 seasons in total, only the first 2 seasons aired on Sprout, while the third one most likely aired on Treehouse TV in Canada.
  • SproutOnline.com has had a section with crafts, recipes, and printables for a Fifi-themed birthday party.
