Frances is a show that aired on Sprout, and was produced by The Jim Henson Company.
The show had only six episodes. Each was 15 minutes long. Half of them were released on the DVD Bedtime for Frances but the rest are lost.
Plot
The delightful preschool comedy series is based on the popular Russell Hoban books about a high-spirited badger named Frances. The show uses state-of-the-art digital puppetry and animation from the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, a pioneering technology that allows performers to puppeteer and voice digital characters in real-time. Each episode of "Frances" holds three delightful stories full of singing, dancing, and discovery.
History on Sprout
The show premiered on June 20, 2008 on Sprout as part of the summer block, Summer Fun Fridays, along with fellow obscure shows Panwapa, Brambly Hedge, and Percy the Park Keeper.[1] The show also aired during Hooray for Mother's Day in 2010.[2] It remained available on Sprout On Demand for a few years after that.
