Good Egg Awards was a segment on The Sunny Side Up Show that debuted alongside the block in 2007, and renamed "Kindness Counts Awards" in 2015 to coincide with Sprout's rebrand. Sproutlets could go on SproutOnline.com and submit their kind acts for a chance to have them featured on TV live, where the hosts would refer to them as "Good Eggs."

The Good Egg Awards were also featured in both Let's Grow videos, this time given out to characters who did good deeds previously. Awards were also given to guests such as Shane McGrath, Al Roker, Jose Garces,[1] Kindest Kid Contest winner Emma Lock, and Stevie Boulden, and celebrities often appeared in segments, such as Mo'ne Davis, Brandy, and John O'Hurley. Please Touch Museum CEO Laura Foster has also received the award.[2]

The Good Eggs were called "Rotten Eggs" when Oscar the Grouch guested on the show for Earth Day in 2008, "Super Good Eggs" when Super Grover appeared for New Year's 2009, and the "Good Hen Awards" for Mother's Day in both 2008 and 2009.[3]

Notes

  • If a child's photo was not uploaded with their award, the cartoon farm animals holding an egg would be seen instead.
  • One of the changes imposed with the show starting with the December 30, 2013 broadcast was that the "Good Egg"'s kind deed was shown below their name, age, and home instead of the host just reading it out loud.
