"Happy Birthday" is a song from The Birthday Show, a series of interstitials hosted by Kevin Yamada and featuring birthday cards on PBS KIDS Sprout in its first few years. The song is performed by Barney, Elmo, Noddy, Jay Jay, and Caillou, accompanied by clips from their respective shows, Pingu, Teletubbies, amongst others, and Sproutlets, complete with the name-scroll at the bottom of the screen. It was performed before Kevin told the viewers how to send in cards to Sprout. The song was retired along with The Birthday Show in 2007.
Clips used
- Jay Jay the Jet Plane: Brenda's Mother's Day
- Angelina Ballerina: The Lucky Penny
- Caillou: Get Well Soon
- Sesame Street: Elmo's World: Dancing and Birthdays, Dance Myself to Sleep
- Teletubbies: Making Tortilla Rolls
Notes
- The song was sung by Dean Wendt, Kevin Clash, David A. Kaye, Donna Cherry, and Annie Bovaird, reprising their respective roles.
- The birthday segments on The Sunny Side Up Show used audio clips of Elmo, Caillou, and Barney saying "Happy Birthday!" from this song. The Elmo one was replaced in 2011.
- A few kids in this song are the same kids in Wherever You Find Kids. They even wear the same clothes, so those two productions were probably filmed on the same day.
- An instrumental of this song played in the Birthday Show opening.
