Host Hunt

In 2013, Sprout held a Host Hunt contest, after Kelly Vrooman announced she was quitting The Sunny Side Up Show, and quit her job on December 22nd that year (after the Kindest Kid Countdown special). Here, people from July to August 31st were encouraged to submit a 60-second audition video in which they would pretend their stuffed animal is Chica, introduce a theme, introduce a show, and sing their own version of the Birthday Song. Every day in August, Sprout would upload one of the auditions to its YouTube account, and would upload Vrooman and Dennisha Pratt's Sunny Side Up Show auditions to Facebook. Both videos were uploaded to YouTube years later by an account called Let's Grow.

A live event was also held on August 23rd at Universal CityWalk, hosted by Chica, Vrooman, and Carly Ciarrocchi. The finalists would be invited to the block's set in Philadelphia to audition with Chica live once again, but this time in front of the producers. The lucky winners, who would become the new hosts, were announced in September, and ended up being Isabelis Payan, Darryl Williams, and Emily Borromeo.
