Because HiT Entertainment co-owned Sprout when the channel was launched, it aired a variety of shows from its archive library on Sprout, including reruns of James the Cat.

Plot

The program changes quite a bit between the two series. In the first, James is a newcomer to the garden at the Cornerhouse, and must learn to live with the other animals there. In the first episode of the second series, James becomes a diplomat (though sometimes he is referred to as a VIP). In subsequent episodes, he and the others travel to distant lands or receive important visitors.

History on Sprout

The show joined Sprout when the channel launched in September of 2005. The show aired at 8:45AM ET and 8:15PM ET when Sprout launched.

It seldom aired after 2006 and stopped airing on September 25, 2007, a day before Musical Mornings and The Sunny Side Up Show launched, not making it to the SproutOnline.com rehash that year.

Notes

  • The show originally aired in America as a segment on Nickelodeon's Eureeka's Castle (which had Noel MacNeal among its cast).
