Jayla Newson is one of the five finalists for Sprout's Kindest Kid Contest in 2014, who sends decorated book bags with items like toothpaste and a toothbrush, lotion and small snacks to homeless people, founding "Jayla's Little Helping Hands." Newson came up with the idea after seeing a young girl and her mother living on the street, and also delivers her bags to a shelter for homeless kids.[1]
