Kelly Vrooman (born March 19, 1983) was one of the hosts of The Sunny Side Up Show. She hosted it from September 26, 2007 to December 20, 2013, but returned only for Thanks for Giving Week 2014. She also performed Patty and the Stage Mice on The Sprout Sharing Show and played namesake character Kelly in The Chica Show, a spin-off of The Sunny Side Up Show.

Biography

From Sprout Press Room:

"Kelly Vrooman is host of The Sunny Side Up Show on PBS KIDS Sprout, the first 24-hour preschool destination available on TV, on demand and online for kids ages 2-5 and their parents and caregivers. Along with her sidekick puppet, Chica the chicken, Kelly interacts live with preschoolers and their families across the country, as she shares daily birthday greetings, viewer-submitted crafts, fun facts and weekly themes ranging from colors, numbers and letters to manners, gardening and pets. A 25-year-old actor originally from Mansfield, OH, Kelly had her first starring role as Little Miss Mouse in a kindergarten play. Her love of acting continued throughout middle school when she would volunteer backstage at high school plays and watch the show through the cracks in the set since she was not yet old enough to participate in the ninth through twelfth grade productions. Kelly attended Malone College in Ohio and also participated in the Los Angeles Film Studies program. Over the last several years, Kelly has enjoyed a successful theatre and commercial career with leading roles in plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Fiddler on the Roof, and appearances in commercials for top brands like Comcast and Penske. Kelly is also actively involved in the improvisational community and is currently a member of the award-winning improve comedy troupe, Comedy Sportz. As host of The Sunny Side Up Show, Kelly links Sprout’s gold-standard, curriculum-based programs with live segments that create a warm, welcoming and fun environment where preschoolers and their parents can gather each morning to prepare for the day ahead and share birthdays, greetings, ideas, crafts and more. Airing every weekday from 9 a.m. – noon ET, The Sunny Side Up Show is television’s only live show for preschoolers. Kelly lives in Philadelphia and her hobbies include painting, dance, storytelling and music." (link)
