Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies is a British animated educational wildlife children's television series.
The live action footage comes from the BBC Natural History Unit archives, as well as the National Geographic Society, and is also shown in the United States on PBS Kids. In the American version, all of the animals except Karla have American voices. Vanessa Williams is the voice of Mama Mirabelle in the US, and Floella Benjamin is the voice for Mama Mirabelle in the UK. The series is produced by UK animation studio King Rollo Films, whose other shows include Poppy Cat, also for PBS KIDS Sprout. Mama Mirabelle's Home Movies, the first season runs as 52 11-minute episodes on CBeebies, but the show is running on PBS Kids as of 2008 in a 30-minute time by combining two 10-minute episodes with extra songs, features, and games. Music for this show is written by Lester Barnes, the composer for Horrid Henry, Me Too!, Paz, and Urmel). The series was created by Douglas Wood, who is also the author of the companion children's picture book When Mama Mirabelle Comes Home, published by National Geographic Books.

History on Sprout[]
The show premiered on Sprout on January 26th, 2009 and aired at 2:30PM ET on weekday afternoons (getting replaced in that timeslot by LazyTown in 2011) and The Sprout Sharing Show at 3:15PM (later 4:45PM). It later aired at 9:56AM ET on The Let's Go Show. Mama Mirabelle videos also aired during Musical Mornings. To promote, "Safari Animals" was the weekly theme on The Sunny Side Up Show the same week it premiered on Sprout.

In 2010, the show started airing at 6:28PM ET during The Good Night Show, replacing Dragon Tales as the show that would come on after Sprout Stretches. A few months later, it was replaced by Driver Dan's Story Train. In later years, it also aired at 6:46AM on weekend mornings.
It stopped airing on the channel on March 11th, 2012, alongside Franny's Feet and What's Your News?, about a month after Fifi and the Flowertots and Zoboomafoo, and a month before Roary the Racing Car, although the pages for all six shows would remain up on SproutOnline.com, even after the site's March, 2013 refresh.
