Maya the Bee is a French-German computer-animated comedy television series produced by Studio 100 Animation in association with ZDF for Germany, TF1 for France and ABC for Australia. It is based on the character Maya the Bee introduced in 1912. This is the second animated adaptation focused on the character, after the anime Maya the Honey Bee that aired in the 1970s.
Plot
- "A young bee named Maya has left her hive to discover the beauty and mysteries of nature. As she explores the meadow where she lives, she meets other insects living there, plays to her heart's content and shares her joy with her friends. History on Sprout
The show joined Sprout on September 26th, 2015, along with Nina's World and Sydney Sailboat. The show aired every weekend morning at 9AM, ET[1] in the afternoon at 5:30PM, at 7:20PM during The Good Night Show, and in early mornings at 4AM.
A marathon of the show aired on April 22nd, 2016 (Earth Day).[2] The show's first movie aired on September 4th the same year.
Maya survived the launch of Universal Kids on September 9th, 2017, but stopped airing on June 1st, 2018, around the same time many shows from the Sprout era also stopped airing.
