Panwapa is a worldwide video initiative produced by Sesame Workshop. The 12-episode video debuted on October 10, 2007, and released online via iTunes and Panwapa.com

Plot

Characters

  • Azibo the Monster - A friendly green monster who loves soccer and his favorite food is noodles with spice.
  • Bill the Bug - His job is to track the location of Panwapa Island on the globe.
  • Koko the Penguin - She wears pink glasses and loves badminton. She is very excitable, screaming in terror when she first meets Azibo the Monster and then running off to warn the others, and then hiding in her cottage. However she is also the first to go offer to help him build his house once she gets over her fear.
  • Athena the Owl - She acts as a guide to Panwapa Island for Azibo and the viewer. She frequently speaks directly to the viewers before taking action, inviting them to join her in solving a problem. Always calm and soft-spoken, Athena frequently helps to solve disputes, or redirect the community's efforts to focus on the problem at hand. She also provides encouragement when the community members face a problem.
  • Tungar the Tiger - Organized and orderly, Tungar has his personal routines well crafted and is skeptical of anything new and just a little resistant to change. A loyal friend, he warms up to newcomers with a little time and enjoys coaching the new sheep players in the art of football including his specialty, the subtleties of head passing. He lives in a cave near the stream.
  • Baabra Sheep - She and her two children come to Panwapa Island to live. She can only speak sheep. She and her family live on a portion of the football field where they help out by eating the grass. Her family has a tradition of baaing to the sun each month.
