Sprout Mall Tour (otherwise known as Barney's Sprouterrific Playdate) was a Sprout touring show created by Lauren Monks[1] and featuring Barney the Dinosaur and the hosts of The Sunny Side Up Show that visited malls around the United States. Throughout the tour, Sproutlets had a chance to meet and greet and have their picture taken with Barney and tell the weather with Chica and a host from The Sunny Side Up Show by an inflatable replica of the Sunshine Barn. Grown-up Sprouts were encouraged to submit photos and/or videos of their Sproutlets on this tour to a website called SproutMallTour.com, and additionally, it had its own section on the Sprout Please website. Shows usually ran on Saturdays in the fall from 11AM to 5PM ET.
In 2008 and 2009, Sprout held a Preschool Weather Reporter contest and had kids tell their own weather reports with Chica and the host, and the winner would guest star live on The Sunny Side Up Show and tell the weather. The winners ended up being Mikey Letts and Maddyx Poulin, while finalists in 2009 included Avante of Columbus, Ohio, Heather of Cincinnati, Ohio, Leane of Long Island, New York, Michael of Tampa, Florida, Mona of St, Louis, Missouri, Reese of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Zoey of Syracuse, New York.[2] The following year, finalists included Caragh of Rochester, New York, Christina of El Paso, Texas, Dillon of Cleveland, Ohio, Isabella of Syracuse, New York, Kiarra of Orlando, Florida, Lorelai of Austin, Texas, and Olivia of Long Island, New York.[3]
