TCS Sprout Originals

Throughout Sprout's run as a cable channel, a few original series were made specifically for the channel. The original series differed from the rest of Sprout's lineup, because most other shows were either reruns from PBS Kids, Sesame Workshop, and HiT Entertainment's archives or Acquired series. Originally, Sprout focused on short shows, but started focusing on original programs in 2010. As of now, Universal Kids has shifted away from original programming.

This page is a list of the original series, including the years they aired on Sprout (counting reruns). Programming blocks don't count, since they were just links in between shows, even though Sprout itself called them "Originals."

Logline

From the Sprout Press Room:

"Sprout produces its own high-quality original programs that get kids moving in the morning, keep them active in the afternoon and wind them down in the evenings. Every day, parents and preschoolers across the country welcome into their homes Sprout’s lovable characters from The Sunny Side Up Show, The Sprout Sharing Show, The Good Night Show and more."

Notes

  • A few non-original shows (such as acquired shows (including Clangers, Floogals, and School of Roars) were given a "Sprout Originals" ending card, predominantly if Sprout was the main broadcaster for the show in America. These aren't actually original series, since they were not made specially for Sprout and aren't owned by Children's Network LLC.
