A Sprout launch party was held at the Carousel Plaza in Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, California on April 4, 2005 to promote the launch of Sprout On Demand that day, shortly before the channel launched months after. Photos of the event were uploaded by Steve Rhodes on Flickr.
Guests present included Barney (Bob West), Bob, Angelina Mouseling, Big Bird, Elmo, and Roscoe Orman (who has played Gordon on Sesame Street since 1974). Children in attendance were encouraged to shout Sprout's "let's grow!" slogan in order to introduce a video clip of the service.[1]
A secondary launch party was held the same year on September 26th, the day the network launched, at the Hamilton Garden in Philadelphia's Kimmel Center, running from 5:30 to 8PM ET.
