Sproutlets with Jeremy Wintroub.

Sproutlets are what viewers and kids are referred to on Sprout. The channel's on-air hosts referred to kids as "Sproutlets," encouraging them to join in with songs, games, and the like, and, in a manner similar to the non-Sprout PBS show ZOOM, encouraged them to send in content such as birthday wishes and artwork via SproutOnline.com.

A slate of real-live children, also known as Sproutlets, have appeared in Sprout's idents, bumpers, openings, and promos, usually with their parents. In the Sprout image spot, kids were seen hugging, blowing party horns, and jumping.

Sproutlets have also appeared on-set in some of the programming blocks. For example, in The Good Night Show, they appeared in segments talking about the blockisode's theme (usually with Star, in Star Talks) or participated in a Sprout stretch with Nina. Most Sproutlets were child actors (such as Kylie LaDuca, Adriana Camposano, and Aaralyn Anderson), while others usually lived nearby where Sprout productions were filmed.
