In 2012, Sprout asked viewers to go to SproutOnline.com to vote for categories such as "Best Screenplay," "Best Special Guest," (Sunny Side Up Show guest appearances) "Best Original Song," "Best Adapted Screenplay," (Sproutlet Stories segments) "Best Siblings," "Best Moves," "Best New Show," "Best Friends," "Best Furry Friends," and "Kindest Character." The results were announced on December 23rd that year with a Sunny Side Up Show called The Chica Awards, hosted by Sean and Chica, who celebrated the winners in the Sunshine Theatre to an audience of Sproutlets.
The special was held again in 2013 and 2014, but this time with Carly hosting. In the latter year, it was sponsored by Kindle Fire HDX. It aired again for the final time on January 17, 2015.
