The Good Night Show Intros
Video containing the show's openings.
Openings[]
Original and seasons 1 & 2 of reboot[]
The sun goes down and a bird flies to its nest. After, blankets come down, a clock yawns, and a cat in a bed looks at the moon rise up. The camera then zooms in to a parrot cage on a tree adjacent to a birthday cake, which, in seasons three and four, would transition to the segments. In A Very Special Good Night broadcasts with Leo, the intro did not zoom in to the cage. Used in the Sprout Notebook and also utilized in The Good Night Show podcast and before the original Snooze-a-Thon, as well as before and after commercial breaks. Animated by Primal Screen, which also made Sprout idents that aired during the same time.[1] A new version of this opening's soundtrack was heard in the first and second seasons of the reboot. In the season 2 episode "Dinosaurs," the soundtrack plays at the beginning of the links, suggesting "GNSLINKINTRO," which opened the links in other episodes of the season as well as further ones, wasn't made yet.
Seasons 3 to 5[]
While reading a book with her Sproutlet in bed, a mom opens a cardboard shoebox with the moon, Lucy, and the Sprout logo. The sun goes down, a bird flies to its nest, and a clock yawns. A rocket flies to Teddy in a bed, replaced by the You and Me Tree starting with the premiere of the fourth season in 2011, and fireflies resembling Lucy fly by. The logo appears in a blanket, then opens up, but only in TV airings. The music that plays transitioning to Nina and Star is called "GNSOPENTRANSITION." This opening and ending were animated by Trace Pictures, an animation studio that also made some of Sprout's other idents and promo materials. As with the previous opening and closing, these were seen at the end of Sprout's Snooze-a-Thon and on the Good Night Show podcast. Different music, supposedly the one called "GNSOPENMIX," plays in a Trace Pictures online video and at the beginning in a 2009 promotional video for Sprout's Snooze-a-Thon, as well as Preschool Musical on 2 Sticks.
Season 6[]
As the moon rises up, a tube sleeps in a book and a man reads to his Sproutlets (including Jude Brent).
Closings[]

Next to the cage, a toy box containing a robot, giraffe, and doll closes and the Sprout logo appears behind it. Also used after Sprout's Snooze-a-Thon and on demand versions of certain Good Night Show segments.[2] A Very Special Good Night had a different outro.
Season 3[]
The mom closes the cardboard shoebox and turns off the light. Could be seen after Sprout's Snooze-a-Thon and the Good Night Show podcast. The background music is called "GNSCLOSEMIX" or "GNSCLOSEMIXONAIRVERSION," and an instrumental version, called "GNSCLOSEINST," plays at the end of 2009 and 2010 promotional videos for Sprout's Snooze-a-Thon.
