PBS kids sprout- The Great Sprout Tuck in promo
PSA starring Nina and Star.

Web ad for the initiative.

In 2008, The Pajama Program helped Sprout launched The Great Sprout Tuck-In, a Sprout promotion made to donate new books and pajamas to kids who couldn't afford them, convinced by Sprout's VP of Marketing Lauren Monks. Sprout president Sandy Wax talked about on The Today Show,[1] and its founder, Genevieve Pitturo, appeared on The Sunny Side Up Show.
A promo for this partnership was also made starring Nina and the Pajanimals. Another promo was made featuring Nina and Star talking about the Great Tuck-In, accompanied by sleep-related clips from Dragon Tales, The Let's Go Show, Kipper, Sesame Street, and The Sunny Side Up Show. It also appears Pitturo was on The Sunny Side Up Show once. These videos were also available on SproutOnline.com. Interestingly, the initiative was advertised on channels aside from Sprout.[2]
In 2010, Liz and Chica of The Sunny Side Up Show held a pajama party on the show to promote the initiative, during Gifts and Giving week, and invited Star, Patty, and Noodle. Similarly, Nina hosted pajama drive parties to promote the Tuck-In.
Logline[]
- "The Great Sprout Tuck-In is a prosocial initiative that extends Sprout’s “good night” mission and encourages families to share in the spirit of giving. In partnership with the Pajama Program, a national nonprofit organization, it is our goal to help ensure that every child has a good night by donating new bedtime books and cozy pajamas to the Pajama Program. As a part of our commitment, we are creating public service announcements that will introduce the initiative, communicate the spirit of giving in a child’s life and drive people to SproutOnline.com to donate. Sprout will also match donations of new pajamas and new books for up to 100,000 children in need during the first year of The Great Sprout Tuck-In. The new pajamas and new books collected by the Pajama Program and The Great Sprout Tuck-In will go directly to children in need all over the country, including those in foster care who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. The Pajama Program is a perfect fit with Sprout’s mission. Since we launched in 2005, we have been committed to following every step of a preschooler’s day — from early morning until bedtime. Our signature programming block, The Good Night Show, helps children wind down with bedtime stories and other evening routines, providing our viewers with good nights. Now with The Great Sprout Tuck-In, we can provide children in need with good nights, too." (link)

- Sprout made ideas for a Good Night Show-themed pajama party to sponsor this initiative in 2010.
- Sprout Press Room inexplicably states this initiative launched in October 2008.[3]
