The Gruffalo's Child is a 2011 British short computer animated TV film based on the 2004 picture book of the same name written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. A sequel to The Gruffalo, the film was shown on Christmas Day 2011 in the United Kingdom, exactly two years after the debut of the first film.
This movie, along with its predecessor, first aired on Sprout on December 22nd, 26th, and 27th, 2012 as part of Merry Movies, with a viewing party being held on Twitter on the former day starting at 1PM ET.[1] They both aired again the following year on December 3rd, 6th, 8th, and 15th and once again the year after that. It aired at 6:30 ET during The Good Night Show. Additionally, DVDs of both films were available on the Shop Sprout website.
