The Mighty Jungle is a Canadian puppet series for preschoolers created by Jeff Rosen and Jason Hopley. The narrative of the story is largely crafted by a group of preschoolers who appear in live-action segments interspersed between puppet-acted scenes.

Plot

From SproutOnline.com:

"Meet Babu the Meerkat, along with his friends Bruce the Gorilla and Rhonda the Rhinoceros. Together, they capture the spirit of the times; the hopes, fears, frustrations, the joys and sorrows and silliness of children, while exploring how preschoolers play and overcome obstacles both physical and emotional. Catch the series on Sprout during The Sharing Show, every day at 5:30 ET." (link)

For Parents

"Nobody tells a tall tale better than a preschooler. Don't discourage your child's exaggeration and embellishments, but do help separate fact from fiction when necessary"

History on Sprout

The show debuted on April 24th, 2009 as part of Sprout's Mighty Earth Week.[2] A giveaway was also held.

"Meet Babu the Meerkat, along with his friends Bruce the Gorilla and Rhonda the Rhinoceros. Catch the NEW series on Sprout beginning April 24, every day at 5:30 ET." (link)

When the show joined Sprout, it aired at 6:30AM ET on Musical Mornings with Coo, and at 5:30PM ET during The Sprout Sharing Show. However, the former block dissolved just a few months later. In later months, it aired at 7:15, and later 7:27AM, during Sprout's Wiggly Waffle, which replaced Musical Mornings on August 24th. It also aired at 9:45AM on weekend mornings. In September 2011, when LazyTown premiered, it was taken off Wiggly Waffle.

In September 2010, the series started airing at 9:54AM on weekend editions of The Sunny Side Up Show. Additionally, in November 2012, it began airing at 3:30PM during The Super Sproutlet Show, which launched earlier that year.

The show stopped airing on Sprout on March 24th, 2013, two days after the closure of Wiggly Waffle and a day before the premieres of Sid the Science Kid and Sing It, Laurie!.
