Sprout has moved to a new YouTube channel!

Sprout's YouTube channel in 2010.

YouTube is an online video platform owned by Google. It is the second most-visited website in the world. In 2019, more than 500 hours of video content were uploaded to YouTube servers every minute. YouTube provides several ways to watch videos, including the website, the mobile apps, and permitting other websites to embed them.

Sprout launched its own YouTube channel, PBSKidsSprout, on March 23rd, 2009. In 2012, Kelly and Chica announced Sprout would be moving to a new channel. Despite this, videos from the old channel remained up until it got terminated at a later date. When Sprout closed in 2017, the channel was renamed to "Universal Kids Preschool," and when NBCUniversal launched its Peacock streaming service, the channel was again renamed "Peacock Jr." However, the "Sprout" name remained up in the channel's link until 2021.[1] The most popular Sprout video on the website is a Sunny Side Up song of Carly and Chica singing a song about the days of the week. Coincidentally, YouTube launched the same year as Sprout.

From its launch, the channel's video uploads have included clips or full episodes from Sprout shows and programming blocks, though there were also videos about Sprout's Viewer Circle, A Lot Happens When You Sprout (Project ZONKED), and Host Hunt, amongst other stunts and campaigns. The first public video on the second channel was one with Mario Lopez to promote The Chica Show. In late 2021, most Sunny Side Up Show videos on Peacock Jr's channel were made private.[2]

When The Sprout Sharing Show was launched in 2008, Sandy Wax dubbed it as a "YouTube for preschoolers."[3]
